Grace So Amazing

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:14-16

Now most of us know a lot about grace, not the "grace" we say before eating. God is grace. God is good. Let us thank him for our food. Bow our heads we must be fed. Give us Lord our daily bread. Amen. LOL!!! Remember this from elementary school? I am not talking about this kind of grace but the unmerited favor we receive from God. If you are like me, there are so many paths in your life that you can retrace back to God's grace. The times you went on blind dates not knowing whether the person was a psychopath, stalker, axe murderer or rapist. Even though some did turn out to be stalker's, somehow they eventually got the message and discontinued stalking you. Going to a home of someone you just met trusting that they were "good" people. Pulling money out of your purse or wallet for a perfect stranger that asked for money for food while he or she looked on a finger tip away. Stopping for gas in a dimly lit gas station with many addicted asking can they fill the tank for you.

I can take it a step further. What about a time where you didn't obey the prompting of the Lord to take a left turn instead of a right turn, you took the right and ran into a police road block where they were checking license, registration and car insurance. You didn't have either in hand and instead of a ticket they gave you a warning. How about drinking an occasional cocktail, one daily, then cocktails all day long. After one of these all day drinking sessions getting behind the wheel of a car, driving to your destination without hitting anything or anyone. What about running the red light while talking on the cellphone without hitting a child that happens to be crossing the street. On a good note, receiving a promotion and increase in pay without an increase in workload or responsibility. Your dream job and home that became a reality. Winning the lottery!!! Now that's just wishful thinking. LOL!!!

I am sure you can add many more examples of how God's grace was extended toward you and those around you. Let's not take God's grace for granted. I asked God in prayer some days ago how could I properly thank Him for all that He had done and continued to do for me. His answer was to "assist His people". God loves people. Make a conscientious effort today and each day of your life to be of assistance to all that come across your path. Remember, be swift to extend grace to all as it was and is swiftly extended to you.
